Job Overview
We are looking for a motivated and tech-savvy WordPress and Shopify Developer Intern to join our web development team. This internship offers hands-on experience in building, customizing, and maintaining websites using WordPress and Shopify platforms. As an intern, you’ll collaborate with designers, content creators, and developers to support a wide range of web projects for clients across different industries. This role is ideal for someone looking to deepen their development skills while working in a fast-paced, creative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Website Development & Customization
- Assist in developing responsive websites using WordPress and Shopify.
- Work with page builders such as Elementor, Gutenberg, and modern Shopify themes.
- Customize themes, templates, and layouts based on project requirements.
- Implement UI/UX designs into functional web pages.
- Support front-end development using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and basic Liquid (Shopify).
AI-Assisted Development & Productivity
- Utilize AI tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, and other productivity platforms to improve development efficiency.
- Learn how AI can assist in coding, debugging, content structuring, and workflow automation.
- Follow best practices for validating AI-generated code before implementation.
Website Performance & Optimization
- Assist in improving Core Web Vitals and PageSpeed performance.
- Optimize images, assets, scripts, and layouts for faster loading times.
- Ensure websites are mobile-first, responsive, and cross-browser compatible.
- Support SEO implementation including metadata, schema markup, and technical SEO improvements.
Shopify & eCommerce Operations
- Support Shopify store setup, product management, and theme customization.
- Assist with payment gateway, shipping, and third-party app integrations.
- Learn Shopify customization using Liquid templates and theme settings.
- Help optimize user experience and conversion-focused store elements.
WordPress Management
- Install, configure, and manage plugins and themes.
- Assist in website migrations, backups, and maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoot plugin conflicts and basic website issues.
- Learn custom post types, dynamic content, and CMS best practices.
QA Testing & Website Maintenance
- Perform testing across devices, browsers, and screen sizes.
- Assist in bug tracking and issue resolution.
- Monitor website uptime, security, and functionality.
- Support routine updates and maintenance activities.
Collaboration & Client Projects
- Participate in project discussions and internal team meetings.
- Understand client requirements and translate them into website features.
- Assist in delivering client-ready websites within project timelines.
- Maintain documentation and follow development workflows.
Job Requirements
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Computer Science, IT, Web Development, or related field.
- Basic understanding of WordPress and/or Shopify platforms.
- Demonstrated interest or project experience in web development (portfolio, GitHub, or college projects).
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.
